The prep is the job
Most of a decorator's week is spent on the parts nobody photographs. Filling, caulking, sanding back, priming bare patches and sealing anything that might bleed through.
Skip it and the paint looks fine for a fortnight. Do it properly and the room still looks sharp in five years. That's the whole difference, and it's why we're never the cheapest quote.
